Tumble dryer repairs in London & Surrey

Tumble dryer repairs across London, Surrey, DA and RM. Find help for no heat, a stopped drum or water alerts, and check call-out charges before booking.

Office hours: Monday–Saturday, 9am–7pm. Contact the team to check availability for your postcode; a visit time is agreed separately.

Read customer reviews on Checkatrade before deciding.

What does the repair visit cost?

Central London freestanding call-out £90; integrated from £120; other areas from £75. Parts extra.

Samsung, LG, Miele and Smeg have separate starting rates: from £90 plus parts outside Central London, or from £120 plus parts in Central London. Integrated appliances of any brand start from £120 plus parts in Central London. The office confirms the applicable charge.

The agreed charge covers the first visit, repair labour and any return visit needed to fit parts for the same agreed repair. There is no extra labour or repeat call-out charge for that repair.

Parts are priced separately and approved before fitting. The office confirms the fixed charge for the model, fitting type and service address before arranging a visit.

After diagnosis, the agreed call-out remains payable if you decide not to proceed with the repair or the required part is unavailable.

Charges, cover and additional work

For a Central London service address, the standard freestanding call-out is £90 plus parts. Integrated appliances of any brand start from £120 plus parts in Central London. Outside Central London, fixed call-out charges start from £75, depending on your appliance's make and model and whether it is freestanding, integrated or another appliance type. Our office confirms the service address and applicable amount by phone before arranging your visit.

A different fault, another appliance, installation, removal or alterations require a separately agreed scope and quote.

If a replacement part does not resolve the fault, we do not charge you for that part. The agreed call-out still applies and is non-refundable after the diagnostic visit. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Parts-cover duration and conditions depend on the part and supplier. Ask us to confirm the cover for your repair, including any labour cover, before agreeing the work. Check any existing manufacturer or service-plan cover first; UKCDA is an independent business.

Read the written summary

A written overview of the symptoms and next step, not a word-for-word transcript.

Damp laundry, an early stop or a drum that does not turn can have different causes. Airflow, sensing, heating, drainage or drive components may need assessment; not every drying system uses the same components.

Vented, condenser and heat-pump designs differ. Give the full model, programme and any message rather than judging the fault from temperature alone. Stop use for smoke, burning smells, unusual overheating or electrical tripping; do not open covers or work on a sealed system.

Ready to describe the problem? Send the symptoms, full model and postcode. The team confirms suitability, availability and applicable charges.

Common symptom questions

Why does my tumble dryer stop with clothes still damp?

Give the dryer type, chosen sensor or timed programme, load and whether the laundry became warm. An early finish and a full cycle without heat are different observations. Use the exact model handbook for routine care; stop use after burning, scorching or electrical trips rather than reproducing the fault.

These are general appliance observations, not a diagnosis for every brand or model. Read the safe-check guidance, compare repair and replacement considerations, or find your model reference safely.

Tumble dryer: fault details for a repair enquiry

Describe a drum that will not turn, a cycle that stops early or clothes that remain damp after the programme. Include tank or filter messages and whether performance changed suddenly. A water container alone does not distinguish a conventional condenser dryer from a heat-pump dryer.

Prepare the details without dismantling the appliance

Identify vented, condenser or heat-pump type if known, and mention stacking or a fitted cupboard. Routine cleaning must follow the exact model's handbook. Do not continue using a dryer that overheats, smells burnt or repeatedly trips the electrics.

Help with your tumble dryer

A dryer that stays cold, stops early or makes a new noise needs attention. We take repair requests for vented, condenser and heat-pump models.

Common reasons to request a repair

  • Not heating
  • Drum not turning
  • Stopping mid-cycle
  • Unusual noise

Identify the dryer type

Is the dryer vented, condenser or heat-pump? Give the type if known and the full model. Tell us whether the drum turns and whether the programme stays cold or ends early. Copy any tank or filter message exactly. These details help plan an assessment; they do not identify a failed part.

Plan safe access to a stacked dryer

Say if the dryer sits above a washing machine or inside a cupboard. Describe the space around it and leave it in place. Stop using a dryer that overheats or smells burnt. Do not run another load to demonstrate the fault.

What can you check safely?

Check the selected programme and any filter or water-container indication using the exact model handbook. Routine lint-filter care differs from internal maintenance; do not open covers or run the dryer with filters removed. Stop using it if it overheats, smells burnt or trips the supply. Tell us whether it is vented, condenser or heat-pump and whether the drum turns.

Repair or replacement: what affects the decision?

The fault assessment, appliance condition, suitable parts and your preferences determine the options—not its age or an online error-code list alone. Compare the assessed repair total with the cost of a suitable replacement, including any separately quoted delivery, removal and fitting. Check any existing manufacturer cover before agreeing independent paid work. We explain the agreed charge and any proposed parts before fitting; a successful repair or first-visit completion cannot be promised.

For a replacement dryer, compare the exact drying type, dimensions, ventilation and manufacturer fitting requirements. Mention any stacking or fitted cupboard without moving the appliance. Ask the office about the proposed work; a repair enquiry does not include replacement fitting or relocation.

Before the engineer visits

Let us know which dryer type you have and whether it is stacked. Stop using a machine that smells burnt or overheats.

Review the call-out charge, parts and cover arrangements before requesting a visit. Repair suitability depends on the model, fault, condition and parts availability.

Brands and model information

Choose specific appliance guidance where available, or the manufacturer's model and enquiry information.

Your tumble dryer repair questions

Can you assess heat-pump dryers?

Send the full model for the office to check suitability and the expertise required. Parts availability and the nature of the fault are confirmed as part of the assessment.

Why mention that the dryer is stacked?

An engineer may need a different access or lifting arrangement. Declaring this before the visit helps the office plan safely and discuss any additional requirements.

Arrange a visit in your area

We cover London, every area inside the M25, all of Surrey and all DA and RM postcodes. Check your full postcode, then contact the office with the model and symptoms. Coverage does not confirm a slot; we agree the address, work and availability before booking.

Manufacturer error-code guidance

Choose the exact brand, appliance and message. A code describes a detected condition; it does not confirm a failed part. Check the complete model against the linked manufacturer guidance. For an unlisted message, use “Find appliance help” above or send your model and question privately.

Electrolux dryer E60: heating indication

Model check: Article covers vented, condenser and heat-pump dryers; exact E60 only.

For Electrolux tumble dryers covered by this UK article, E60 indicates a heating-source problem. The article covers vented, condenser and heat-pump models, but the exact manual still matters. The code does not identify a single failed heater or component. Record the full model, code and whether the drum turns but clothes remain wet; leave internal checks to an engineer.

Electrolux tumble dryer E50: motor or controls

Model check: Electrolux UK dryer support; E50/E60 articles include vented, condenser and heat-pump dryers. Match the model.

Electrolux identifies E50 on the dryers in this article as a motor or software problem. Report whether the drum turns and when the programme stops. A repeated E50 needs an engineer; this message does not prove that a new motor is required.

Electrolux tumble dryer E70: temperature sensing

Model check: Electrolux UK dryer support; E50/E60 articles include vented, condenser and heat-pump dryers. Match the model.

Electrolux's E70 guidance identifies temperature-sensing trouble. The dryer cannot be assumed to regulate heat normally while this fault remains. Stop using it if the message persists and give the engineer the full display message and product number; internal sensor testing is not a customer check.

Leave electrical covers and fitted components in place. Stop using an appliance that leaks, overheats, smells burnt or trips the electrics. UKCDA is independent; check any manufacturer guarantee before arranging a paid visit.

Tumble dryer repair cost UK: compare the agreed work

The cost of tumble dryer repair depends on the appliance, installation and any part established as necessary after assessment. Identify vented, condenser or heat-pump equipment and send its complete model. The charge summary separates the applicable call-out from parts; a starting charge is not a promise that every drying fault costs the same. If replacing the appliance is an alternative, compare fitting and removal separately rather than treating delivery as a repair service.

Condenser tumble dryer repair near me: tank, programme or drying result?

Does the programme stop with a message, end with damp laundry or never start? Say whether it uses a tank or drain connection, if you already know. Follow only the exact handbook's routine care. Leave drainage and panels connected. Do not restart an overheating or burnt-smelling dryer. Select Washer dryer instead for a machine that also washes clothes.
