INDEPENDENT LG REPAIR ENQUIRIES

LG washing machine repairs in London & Surrey

An LG washer that does not fill needs a different enquiry from one that holds dirty water or leaves the final spin unfinished. Start with what happened to the water and laundry, then add the exact display message. UKCDA provides independent repair assessment for supported models; Direct Drive or AI DD on the fascia is not a complete model reference.

Samsung and LG call-outs from £90 plus parts; Central London from £120 plus parts.

For Samsung and LG, fixed call-out charges start from £90 outside Central London and from £120 for a Central London service address. Parts are priced separately. The applicable amount depends on the appliance, complete model and fitting type, including freestanding or integrated. Our office confirms the address and fixed charge by phone before arranging the visit. These starting amounts are not an all-inclusive repair price.

What is included, and what costs extra?

The agreed charge covers the first visit, repair labour and any return visit needed to fit parts for the same agreed repair. There is no extra labour or repeat call-out charge for that repair.

Parts are priced separately and approved before fitting. A different fault, another appliance, installation, removal or alterations require a separately agreed scope and quote.

Describe the fault, not a guessed part

Send the complete model reference, any displayed code, fitting type and full postcode. Include any suffix on the model label where shown. Only photograph a safely accessible label; do not remove covers or move a heavy machine.

Washing machine problems explained

A general explanation of drainage, spinning, heating, unusual noise and leaks, and the details useful for a repair enquiry.

Press play when you are ready. English captions are available in the player controls. Open the video file if playback is unavailable.

Read the written summary

A written overview of the symptoms and next step, not a word-for-word transcript.

Water left in the drum, failure to spin, unusual noise and a stopped programme can have different causes. A symptom alone does not identify a failed component or establish that a part needs replacing.

Describe what happened during normal use, the complete model and your postcode. Stop using the appliance if there is smoke, a burning smell, a leak or electrical tripping; do not remove panels or attempt electrical repairs.

Ready to describe the problem? Send the symptoms, full model and postcode. The team confirms suitability, availability and applicable charges.

IE and OE describe different water problems

LG's UK guidance links IE with insufficient incoming water and OE with drainage trouble. Tell us which message appeared, whether the drum filled and whether water remains visible. Mention a recent interruption to the water supply or change to the sink waste. Neither message identifies a failed valve or pump on its own. You do not need to move the washer, disconnect hoses or open a water-filled filter before making an enquiry.

A wet load is not always the same as a blocked drain

If the drum emptied but the laundry stayed wet, include the selected programme, spin setting and type of load. LG instructions for applicable models describe UE in connection with imbalance and an interrupted spin. That is different from a machine still containing water. Report severe movement, repeated knocking or a change since installation separately; do not keep restarting a violently moving machine to obtain more observations.

Identify the actual washer before discussing parts

LG's UK support finder asks for the full model, not just a product family. Use the label only if it is safely accessible, or copy the reference from the manual, receipt or registration record. Include any suffix and serial number available. A programme message or a ThinQ notification can accompany that information, but it does not establish which component needs replacing. Tell us about previous repairs and the machine's approximate age so the assessment has the right context.

Safe checks and deciding your next step

For checks that do not involve dismantling the appliance, read the washing machine safety guidance. If you are weighing up a repair and a replacement, see what affects that decision. Your exact model handbook takes precedence over general guidance.

Details to include with this request

  • Complete LG model reference, suffix if shown, and safely available serial number.
  • Exact IE, OE, UE or other message and the stage when it appeared.
  • Water still inside or only wet laundry, with programme and spin selection.
  • New movement, leaks, recent plumbing work and stacked or restricted access.

Identify the exact LG model

Use the full LG model and suffix from accessible paperwork or the rating label. Product-family and feature names alone do not identify the appliance. LG UK product support and model finder

Copy the complete reference as printed, including any suffix. Use an accessible label or your appliance paperwork; leave built-in units, electrical covers and heavy appliances in place. If the label cannot be reached safely, explain this when you contact us.

For the manufacturer’s explanation of the feature discussed here, see LG UK: washing-machine water supply and drainage messages.

If you are considering a replacement

If you want a replacement washer fitted, provide the proposed model and existing connection and stacking arrangement. Installation, removal and any plumbing changes need their own suitability check rather than being assumed part of a repair.

LG washing machine repair questions

Does an OE message mean an LG drain pump must be replaced?

No. It points towards drainage trouble, not a confirmed parts diagnosis. Include the model, remaining water and any recent waste-connection work so the appropriate assessment can be discussed.

Can you assess a Direct Drive washer without a displayed error?

Yes. Describe the change during an ordinary cycle: filling, drum movement, emptying or spinning. No extra test is required for the enquiry. Keep a leaking or electrically tripping machine unused and explain the safety concern.

What details help with a LG washing machine repair enquiry?

Report whether the machine fills, drains, turns the drum or stops before spinning. Include when the problem occurs and any code exactly as shown. Do not force a locked door or dismantle the pump.

Manufacturer error-code guidance

Choose the exact brand, appliance and message. A code describes a detected condition; it does not confirm a failed part. Check the complete model against the linked manufacturer guidance. For an unlisted message, use “Find appliance help” above or send your model and question privately.

LG washing machine: OE

Model check: Check the complete model against the manufacturer guidance. Codes can vary between models.

LG identifies a washer drainage problem. Tell us whether water remains in the drum and when the programme stopped. A blockage and a failed pump are different possibilities; do not force a locked door or open a water-filled filter.

LG washing machine: IE

Model check: LG UK front-load washing-machine guidance; confirm the complete model.

LG describes a front-loading washer not receiving enough water. Supply interruptions, restricted hoses and appliance faults need distinguishing. Report what you observed without disconnecting hoses or moving a heavy machine.

LG washing machine: UE

Model check: Check the complete model against the manufacturer guidance. Codes can vary between models.

LG associates UE with an unbalanced load; load size or installation can contribute. It does not automatically mean a part has failed. Tell us whether the message recurs with different normal loads and follow the handbook for routine loading advice.

LG washing machine PE: water-level sensing

Model check: LG UK manual 3828ER3047W: WD(M)-16341(6)FD/16340(5)FD, 14341(6)FD/14340(5)FD and 12341(6)FD/12340(5)FD only.

For the LG WD(M) models covered by this UK manual, PE indicates a water-pressure sensing error. It does not identify the failed component without testing. Share the full model so this explanation can be matched correctly, and arrange service if the code persists.

LG washing machine tE: water-temperature trouble

Model check: LG UK manual 3828ER3047W: WD(M)-16341(6)FD/16340(5)FD, 14341(6)FD/14340(5)FD and 12341(6)FD/12340(5)FD only.

LG's UK manual for the listed WD(M) models describes tE as water-temperature trouble. The code needs checking against your precise model; it is not a universal instruction to replace a heater. Record the programme and displayed message for an engineer's assessment.

LG washing machine LE: motor overload warning

Model check: LG UK manual 3828ER3047W: WD(M)-16341(6)FD/16340(5)FD, 14341(6)FD/14340(5)FD and 12341(6)FD/12340(5)FD only.

The listed LG WD(M) machines use LE for motor overload in their UK manual. This is a model-scoped explanation, not proof that the motor has failed. Tell us whether the drum turns and provide the complete model before any repair or part is proposed.

LG washing machine dE: door not closing

Model check: LG UK support for front-loading washing machines; door-error behaviour varies by model.

LG's front-load washer guide associates dE, dE1 and dE2 with a door that cannot close properly. Trapped laundry, a sagging door or damaged sealing parts can be involved. Never force the lock; a persistent message with the door normally closed warrants inspection.

LG washing machine FE: excessive water level

Model check: LG UK front-load washer FE guide; confirm the full model before applying the explanation.

LG describes FE on the front-load machines in this guide as water above the required level. Drainage restriction, excess foam or freezing conditions may be relevant. It is not automatically a failed inlet valve. Report any retained water or leak and arrange assessment if the warning persists.

LG washing machine CL: child lock

Model check: LG UK washing-machine operation guide; model-specific Child Lock controls.

LG explains that CL indicates Child Lock, which can prevent buttons from responding. It is a setting rather than evidence of a broken control panel. The unlocking method depends on the model, so use its manual or provide the model for help identifying the correct controls.
