Choosing a washing machine installation service
What affects the washing machine installation cost?
A replacement going into an existing position is a different job from adding new water or waste connections. Tell us whether the machine is freestanding or integrated, how the connections can be reached, and whether another appliance is stacked above it. These details help us quote the actual fitting work before you book; the repair call-out price is not an installation fee.
Will an integrated washing machine fit behind my existing door?
The new model must suit the cabinet opening and furniture-door arrangement. A similar advertised width does not establish that the hinges, depth and clearance will work together. Send the old and proposed model numbers and any measurements already available. Leave the fitted machine in place; you do not need to pull it out to start an enquiry.
Can fitting include disconnecting and removing the old machine?
Tell us what needs to happen to the existing machine before the visit is agreed. Disconnection, removal and disposal are separate items to confirm in the quotation, rather than automatic extras. If access is restricted or a connection needs attention, explain that when requesting the installation so the office can review the scope.
How long does washing machine installation take?
The time depends on access, the fitted door, the existing connections and any agreed changes. Moving a stacked appliance or correcting a connection can make the work different from a straightforward replacement. Send those details before booking so the office can explain the likely visit arrangements. The appointment window and time spent fitting are different; neither is a fixed completion promise.
Is it worth paying for a washing machine installation service?
Fitting is more than placing the machine in a gap. The appliance must suit the position, its water and waste connections, the floor and any furniture front. If you are unsure about those conditions, a reviewed installation request helps establish the work needed before the visit. UKCDA quotes for the agreed fitting; buying an appliance elsewhere does not automatically include a UKCDA installation.
What if a dryer is stacked above the washing machine?
Include the model numbers of both appliances and say that they are stacked. Access to the lower machine and suitability of the stacking arrangement need separate review. Similar dimensions alone do not establish that a stacking kit is suitable. Leave the appliances and kit in place; the team will confirm whether the proposed work can be included in the visit.
What if my washing machine has a hardwired electrical connection?
Mention the hardwired connection when enquiring and send the new model reference. A replacement must meet its manufacturer's electrical requirements; the existing connection does not establish that it is suitable. Leave cables, covers and isolation equipment alone. Any electrical work needs review by a suitably qualified professional and must be agreed separately from a standard appliance fitting request.
Does the washing machine brand change the fitting requirements?
The full model matters more than the brand name alone. Samsung, Siemens and other makes can have different depths, hose arrangements and furniture-door fittings across their ranges. Share the old and new model numbers, whether the machine is integrated and your postcode. The office checks the exact fitting request; this does not imply that UKCDA is a manufacturer-authorised installer.

Installation work and charges are agreed for your model, fitting and existing connections before an appointment is confirmed. Removal, disposal and changes to cabinetry, plumbing, electrical supplies or ducting are included only when expressly agreed in the quotation.
