Include the filter and airflow arrangement
NEFF’s filter guidance distinguishes grease filters from recirculation filters and directs owners to the model instructions. For your enquiry, tell us which normal maintenance has already been carried out and whether air is ducted outside. Do not assume every filter can be washed or use another hood’s cleaning procedure. Weak extraction can require attention to the installation as well as the appliance.
Describe the noise or electrical function that changed
Explain whether the fan is silent, hums without normal airflow, runs at only one speed or has become louder. Say whether the lighting still works. For a concealed hood, include the cabinet style; for a high or island fitting, explain access limitations. Leave covers and wiring undisturbed, and do not climb on a kitchen worktop to read the label.

Can I wash every filter before the engineer arrives?
No. Filter care depends on the filter type and model. Consult the correct NEFF instructions and avoid treating an odour filter like a metal grease filter. Tell the office what you have already done.
What if the fan runs but smells remain?
Describe the result and the airflow arrangement rather than assuming a motor failure. An extraction complaint may need the filter, appliance and surrounding installation considered, with any ductwork changes quoted separately.
