Freezing performance versus ice and alarms
Do not force drawers or chip ice
Explain where ice prevents normal use, whether the door closes and whether drawers move freely. Do not force a frozen drawer, chip ice with a tool or dismantle the lining. Defrost and location instructions are specific to the model, so send the handbook reference if available. Protect stored contents separately; the enquiry does not guarantee an immediate engineer or continued safe freezing.
Green, amber and red lights have different purposes
Beko's guidance for freezers with three coloured indicators distinguishes mains power, fast-freeze operation and a high-temperature warning. A green light confirms electricity is present; it does not measure the temperature of the food. Amber can relate to the maximum or fast-freeze setting, while red indicates a temperature warning on the models described. These meanings are not universal across every Beko display. Match the complete model to its handbook and tell us which light or message appeared, when it began and whether the contents changed. Protect affected contents promptly; a lit lamp or cleared warning is not evidence of safe freezing.
Freezer Guard concerns the room, not a storage-temperature target
Beko describes Freezer Guard as allowing equipped freezer models to operate in ambient temperatures as low as -15°C. That is the surrounding room temperature, not a setting to select for the stored food. Check the actual model's specification and manual before relying on suitability for a garage or outbuilding. Include the installed room and a recent location or weather change in the enquiry. Do not extend a freezer-compartment claim to a fridge compartment or assume the feature proves an existing cooling fault is harmless.
A short pause after changing a control is model-dependent
The FFP 1671 S/W/B handbook explains that a short compressor-start delay can follow selecting fast freeze or adjusting the temperature setting. It does not describe every prolonged silence or loss of freezing as normal. This is an example for those models, not a reset procedure for all Beko freezers. Record the setting and change already observed; use your own handbook and avoid repeated adjustments to test a fault. Persistent alarms or deteriorating contents need attention independently of booking arrangements.
Safe checks and deciding your next step
For checks that do not involve dismantling the appliance, read the freezer safety guidance. If you are weighing up a repair and a replacement, see what affects that decision. Your exact model handbook takes precedence over general guidance.
Details to include with this request
- Full model, layout and freestanding/integrated fitting.
- Affected compartment, alarm and setting.
- Door closure, location of ice/water and recent changes.
- Access details without moving or dismantling the appliance.
Identify the exact Beko model
Beko's model finder distinguishes appliance types and label locations. Copy the complete model and serial number from safely accessible paperwork or a label; do not remove a fitted appliance to find it. Beko UK model and serial-number finder
Copy the complete reference as printed, including any suffix. Use an accessible label or your appliance paperwork; leave built-in units, electrical covers and heavy appliances in place. If the label cannot be reached safely, explain this when you contact us.

If you are considering a replacement
Specify chest, upright or integrated format and the intended room or outbuilding. Include the model and any manufacturer location requirements, plus steps or narrow doorways on the route to its position.

Beko freezer repair questions
Does a light or display mean the contents are safely cooled?
No. Describe the actual storage concern and protect food separately. A light or selected setting is not a temperature measurement, and making an enquiry does not guarantee an immediate visit.
What does the fixed repair call-out include?
For a Central London service address, the standard freestanding call-out is £90 plus parts. Integrated appliances of any brand start from £120 plus parts in Central London. Outside Central London, fixed call-out charges start from £75, depending on your appliance's make and model and whether it is freestanding, integrated or another appliance type. Our office confirms the service address and applicable amount by phone before arranging your visit. The agreed charge covers the first visit, repair labour and any return visit needed to fit parts for the same agreed repair. There is no extra labour or repeat call-out charge for that repair. Parts are priced separately and approved before fitting.
What details help with a Beko freezer repair enquiry?
Describe loss of freezing, excessive ice, a door problem or an alarm and when it began. Include integrated access details. Do not chip ice with a sharp tool or open refrigerant components.
Why can my Beko freezer have a green light but softened contents?
On the three-indicator models covered by Beko's guidance, green confirms mains power rather than measuring storage temperature. Report the actual contents, any red warning and the complete model. Power being present does not rule out a cooling problem; protect affected contents and request advice without removing panels.
Does an amber light always mean my Beko freezer is faulty?
No. Beko associates amber with maximum or fast-freeze operation on the models in its indicator guidance. Check your exact handbook because controls differ. Describe a changed freezing result or persistent warning separately; the colour alone does not establish that a repair part is needed.
Local repair visits: M25, Surrey, DA and RM
Our service territory includes addresses inside the M25, all Surrey and every DA and RM postcode, including DA and RM addresses outside the motorway. Coverage is not a promise of an immediate appointment: the office confirms the model, required work and visit arrangements.
