What affects built-in microwave installation cost?
The model, housing, available ventilation and electrical requirements determine the fitting work. Tell us whether an old microwave is being replaced and whether it needs removing. A trim kit or cupboard alteration is not automatically included. The office reviews the proposed installation and agrees the scope and price before confirming a visit.
Can a countertop microwave be fitted inside a cupboard?
Do not assume that a countertop microwave is suitable for an enclosed cabinet. The appliance must be designed for its intended location and retain the ventilation specified by its manufacturer. Send the exact model and explain the proposed position. UKCDA reviews countertop requests individually; a built-in service does not mean every freestanding model can be converted.
Are built-in microwaves a standard size?
No single opening fits every model. The cabinet dimensions, depth, ventilation route and any compatible trim must be checked against the proposed appliance. Share the old and new model references and measurements already available. Leave the existing microwave in place until the fitting request has been assessed.
Does a combination microwave need different installation checks?
A combination model may have different housing, ventilation and electrical requirements from the microwave it replaces. The cooking functions and advertised width do not establish compatibility with the current opening. Send the full product reference and its installation information. Any required cabinet or electrical preparation must be reviewed and agreed separately.
Can a microwave be installed above an oven or hob?
That depends on the exact appliance and the manufacturer's permitted installation arrangements. Heat, access and ventilation need consideration together; a space above another appliance is not automatically suitable. Describe the proposed layout and send both model references where relevant. Do not reposition a fitted appliance yourself to test whether it will work.

Agreeing your installation
Installation work and charges are agreed for your model, fitting and existing connections before an appointment is confirmed. Removal, disposal and changes to cabinetry, plumbing, electrical supplies or ducting are included only when expressly agreed in the quotation.
