Questions before fitting your fridge
How is fridge installation priced?
A freestanding fridge placed in an accessible position is different from an integrated replacement with a furniture door. Tell us the new model, the fitting position, access to it and whether door reversal or old-appliance removal is required. The office quotes for those agreed tasks. Delivery, disposal and cabinetry changes are not automatically included.
Can an integrated fridge use the existing cupboard and door?
The cupboard opening, ventilation arrangement and furniture-door mechanism need to match the replacement. Fixed and sliding door systems are not interchangeable simply because both fridges are described as integrated. Send the old and proposed model references and any known cabinet dimensions. The fitting is reviewed before the visit rather than assumed from the brand or capacity.
Can the fridge door opening direction be changed during fitting?
Ask before booking and include the exact model. Door reversal depends on the appliance design and any required parts; a matching furniture door can add another consideration on integrated models. Describe the nearby wall or obstruction that affects opening. The office confirms whether the requested change is suitable and included in the quotation.
Does a fridge need space around it after installation?
Yes, the model's specified ventilation must remain available. Freestanding and integrated fridges can have different airflow requirements, and a unit that physically enters a gap may still be unsuitable for it. Share the proposed fridge and its intended position. Do not enclose a freestanding model as though it were designed for an integrated cabinet.
How long does fridge installation take?
Fitting time depends on access, whether a furniture door or water connection needs attention, and the removal work agreed. Send the model and those details so the office can discuss the visit arrangements. The appointment window, time spent fitting and the manufacturer's standing or cooling time are different. Finishing the installation does not mean the fridge is immediately ready for food.
Can I use the fridge immediately after it has been installed?
Follow the exact model's instructions for standing after transport and starting up. Transport history and model guidance matter, so there is no single waiting time for every fridge. Cooling down also takes time after switch-on. Keep perishable food in suitable cold storage until the fridge is ready to hold it at the required temperature.
What is needed for a fridge with a plumbed water dispenser?
First identify whether the model requires a mains water supply or uses a refillable tank. For a plumbed model, tell us whether there is an accessible existing connection near the proposed position. The installer needs the model's connection requirements. Filters, connection kits and any new water-supply work should be reviewed and agreed before booking; they are not automatically included with positioning a fridge.
What does a fridge installation service add to delivery?
Delivery brings the appliance to the agreed destination; fitting depends on the service purchased. A freestanding fridge needs a suitable position and ventilation, while an integrated or plumbed model also needs its door fittings or water connection assessed. Paid fitting can help when those requirements need professional attention. Ask for the exact tasks and price before booking; delivery or appliance purchase does not automatically include UKCDA installation.

Agreeing your installation
Installation work and charges are agreed for your model, fitting and existing connections before an appointment is confirmed. Removal, disposal and changes to cabinetry, plumbing, electrical supplies or ducting are included only when expressly agreed in the quotation.
Submit the fitting details and our office will confirm the price and appointment. Installation is quoted separately from repair work, and this enquiry form does not take payment.
